Job Description

Norfolk County-8 (NC-8) seeks a Regional Public Health Nurse specializing in Maternal Child and Family Health to work with the towns of Canton, Dedham, Milton, Norwood, Walpole, Wellesley, and Westwood. The NC-8 Regional Public Health Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering essential public health nursing services across multiple communities, collaborating with local health departments, and supporting regional disease surveillance and case management. Key roles include providing direct clinical services, participating in emergency preparedness planning and response, and conducting public health education and outreach. The position requires strong organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-community team.

Responsiblities
  • Core responsibilities include collaborating with municipal health departments to plan and implement regional public health initiatives, providing direct clinical services such as immunizations and communicable disease investigations, and supporting public health education and outreach efforts. The nurse also manages disease surveillance, participates in emergency preparedness and response, and oversees special programs such as camp health compliance and tuberculosis case management.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse, licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration, Division of Professional Licensure with either a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program, or Master of Science degree in nursing, preferably in family health, community health, or related specialty. Valid Class D motor vehicle driver’s license.
